• Be sure to prepare sufficient storage for your video community. A minimum of 1TB of storage is recommended. A good product to consider for 1TB - 2TB of storage is the Terastation from Buffalo
  • Make sure you also consider your backup needs. When you run a video community, it is your responsibility to back up the video files on a regular basis so that they can be restored in case of a hard drive failure. The 2TB Terastation (mentioned above) can also be configured to operate in a redundant (RAID 5) mode to avoid data loss.
  • If you are uploading a video and the video shows a status of Not Converted wait a few seconds and refresh the page, the status should change to converted momentarily. Remember larger videos will take longer to convert.
  • When you are logged in as an Administrator and are viewing the number of users logged in on the Administrator Tab, that number reflects the current number of active user sessions. User sessions may take up to 20 minutes to become inactive.
  • Ensure you have sufficient bandwidth for your video community. To monitor how much bandwidth is being used for downloading on a daily basis, refer to the Bandwidth Usage Report on the Administrator Tab.
  • When creating a community, if you are going to use community images, make sure the images are stored in your images folder.
  • The aspect ratio for the videos is 4:3. Video Compression of 256 and Audio Compression of 96 should be sufficient, anything higher requires a large amount of bandwidth. "Same As Original" is always the recommended setting for any type of compression.
  • Default installation of the Zeop program is made to the c:\Program Files\Zeop folder, but could be located anywhere. We do not recommended putting the Zeop operating files in the path of the website for security purposes.
  • An IIS website must be created and the ASP files dropped into the website’s folder.
  • You will have to create a virtual directory named "video" that points to the "convertedvideos" folder in the zeop program path,(ie: c:\Program Files\Zeop\convertedvideos)
